Windows 10: Microsoft Edge 38.x and displaying immediately a web page in an newTab

Hi

Using Microsoft Edge 38.x with Windows 10 v1607, how do I make sure that, when I open a new tab, the web page, that I would like, is displayed immediately?

The web pages look fine in Chrome but Microsoft Edge doesn't display correctly. Someone who knows about coding web pages can probably help you.

I should be able to click on HELP and find out what browser I'm using. Hoping it's Internet Explorer

I have placed two images below showing my Home page firstly using Internet Explorer 11 and secondly using Edge. BBC News is my Home Page and it is immediately apparent that it does not resemble the default Edge Home Page. Both Home Pages have been
customised to suit my needs and preferences.



One basic difference between the two browsers is the way the Menu bar displays.



To display the Menu bar in Internet Explorer right click towards the top of the window, see the area numbered
1 and click Menu bar
and the Menu bar is added. The box numbered 2
is the Menu bar with Help on the far right. Pressing the F1 key displays the Internet Explorer help web page.



To display the Menu in Edge click the area with three horizontal dots, area with

in the box and the Menu displays as a drop down box, see area with number
2 in box. I am not sure whether Open with Internet Explorer always appears. On this computer Internet Explorer 11 is the default browser and this may impact on how the Menu displays in Edge. If you have
Edge open pressing the F1 key opens a web page headed Microsoft Edge Tips.

and then make your choice at "Open new tabs with"
