    Microsoft Edge Browser and the Movies - getting only sound, no video


    Hi,


    I started using Edge Browser, but I am not able to watch videos in Facebook: I hear the voice, but do not see any image, just a black screen. YouTube videos work in Edge! Everything also works in Internet Explorer.


    1 Use Adobe Flash Player is On.

    2 “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering” is also checked.

    Hi

    I have recently updated to the Windows 10 creator update, and I started liking Edge Browser but there seems to some problem with it therefore Iam unable to make it my default browser.

    As I opened youtube on Edge Browser and tried to play a video I see that there only sound and no video on it whereas u when I do the same on chrome Browser it works perfectly fine.

    also I face similar issue with the movies and TV app i.e only audio and no video

    please reply asap.

    Hi,

    One of the reasons why you're having issues with playing videos on Microsoft Edge is due to flash player not enabled. To address your concern, you may try these steps:

    • Open Edge in InPrivate window.
    • Make sure that flash player is enabled: Select More

      > Settings > View Advanced settings > Use Adobe Flash Player should be
      On.
    • Try again to play a video.

    Regarding your concern with playing videos on Movies and TV app, we suggest that you run the

    "Speeding up" of videos in Movies & TV and Edge

    I look at my movies in the movies and tv app..

    No I do not use other browsers.

    Here is a video of it happening while watching a video on facebook in edge. This is a perfect example because the video has subtitles.
