    Microsoft Edge icon issue - not showing even when edge is running


    Hi guys,

    I am running Microsoft Edge on windows 10, however when I run Microsoft Edge, the icon is missing from the task bar but still appears to recognise it..

    I have also just rebuilt my laptop yesterday with a fresh OS of windows 10 pro.

    Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated please.

    Can't find Microsoft Edge in my apps

    After I search Microsoft Edge, it opens up Edge with a Bing search webpage for "Microsoft Edge". Oddly, even though the edge app is open, the icon isn't displayed on the bottom task bar.I even tried to pin an Edge webpage to the home screen, but the page
    doesn't show up in the taskbar. This sucks!

    I have now found where Microsoft Edge is located on my system:

    I typed a query in the search bar.
    Right Click on the Start Button
    Click on Task Manager - shows Microsoft Edge is running.
    Click on open file location which shows the following
    C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe
    MicrosoftEdge icon appears about a third of the way through the list of programs.
    Right click on this icon and pin it to both Start Menu and Task Bar.

    I now have Edge Icon on both BUT if I double click on the icon it does not open Edge

    Why does Edge not open up when I double click the Edge Icon?
