Windows 10: Microsoft Edge not finishing downloads and also not save as to PDF

I noticed that Edge isn't completing my downloads. It's completing them, but it still shows as downloading even after a while. They get downloaded, but only temporarily, as when I shut my computer off they disappear. Also, if you print the file and Save as PDF it does not work. I have reset the Config/Updated Edge to a new version. Any help?

We suggest that you save the PDF files on your device and check if the issue persists. You may also want to associate the PDF files to Microsoft Edge as the default program to make sure that you have a default application that will open all of your PDF files.
Here are the steps:

• Search for Default Programs.
• Go to Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
• Select the .pdf file type and then click the Change program button on the upper right of the
  Set Associations window.
• Choose Microsoft Edge and then click OK.

I can download a PDF in Microsoft Edge, but it will not allow me to save to my computer. It will allow me to save to the cloud, but I want to save to my computer. I can do this in Internet Explorer, but not Microsoft Edge. Why not?

no... what is typical is people calling foul without understanding the problem. The problem described was not how to click a link to a PDF file and save it... the problem described was how to save a PDF file that was opened in the browser. The described
method for saving an opened PDF document works perfect. If you are trying to save the PDF file from the link to the file without opening it, well that's going to be an issue, as that functionality was removed from Microsoft edge fore security purposes (it
is common for viruses and malware to list themselves as PDFs, and then when you save it to your hard drive and opened it later, it would run as an EXE, or would run as a PDF, but have code to open another URL and install an app... same goes for some WMV and
AVI files though the media player)... I am sure there will be some add-on to add it back or add a button to download all videos, pictures, or pdfs that is made available soon enough for those that like living on the edge ;-)
