    Hi, I'm experiencing frequent freezes and unresponsiveness with Microsoft Edge on my Windows 11 PC. It happens when I'm browsing multiple tabs or trying to load certain websites. I've tried clearing the cache and disabling extensions, but the problem persists. Can someone please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue and make Edge more stable?

    Step 1: I would suggest you to clear the browsing history, cache and cookies and check if it helps.

    • Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three dots
      (. . .).
    • Click on settings.
    • Click on the tab Clear Browsing data (Choose what to clear).
    • Check the box next to the options needs to be cleared and click
      Clear
      .

    From your issue description, I understand that you are facing issue with Microsoft Edge. Not to worry, I am here to help you with this issue.

    • Is this issue specific only with Edge browser?
    • Does the same issue occurs with other browsers as well?
    • Do you have enough internet connection speed to browse?
    This kind of issue might also occur if you have very slow internet connection speed, or if you have any server related problems.

    As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to try the below and check if this helps.

    Method 1:

    I suggest you clear the Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    • Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    • Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    • Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files
      and click on Clear.
    If issue still persists try method 2

    Method 2:

    Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption.
    SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

    • Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
    • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

      sfc /scannow
    If the issue still exists, try the next method.

    Method 3:

    You may check the same issue with the new user account.

    Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
    • Select Add an Account.
    • Enter a user name and hit Next.
    • Click on Finish.
    • Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    • Check if issue persists.
