Windows 10: Microsoft Edge & update KB4559309 & Windows Defender

The KB4559309 update to newer version not wanted.

Windows Defender app & browser control history shows 3 potentially unwanted app found can not remove or quarantine. Files listed do not exist.

KB4559309 Update for new Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 - May 27

UPDATE 6/2:

• KB4541302 - New Microsoft Edge is available for Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909
• KB4541301 - The new Microsoft Edge is available for Windows 10 version 1803 and 1809

Microsoft has started rolling out a new KB4559309 Microsoft Edge Update for Windows 10 version 2004 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring.

This update replaces the old Microsoft Edge with the new Chromium base Microsoft Edge.

This update will not be available if you have already installed the new Microsoft Edge (stable).

Restart wont go away after new Microsoft Edge Windows Update - KB4559309

I did an unprompted restart on my laptop and noticed that it performed an update for the new Edge browser. However fate successfully installed the new browser it keeps prompting me to perform a restart and despite numerous restarts it will not go away.
The windows update - 2020-05 Microsoft Edge Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 (KB4559309) still sits at Pending Restart.

 

Windows Defender Released

Microsoft has released the final version of its Windows Defender anti-spyware utility. Windows Defender is a product of the Microsoft acquisition of GIANT Software. Previously known as Windows AntiSpyware, after a two years beta period it's now available for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 under the name Windows Defender. Windows Defender incorporates Real-Time Protection to monitor systems for spyware activity, automated spyware removal with scheduled scans, full integration with Internet Explorer 7.0 and automatic spyware definition updates from Microsoft. Windows Defender is available freely to all customers running a genuine copy of Windows. Microsoft has also announced that customers will each be allowed to report two support incidents for free with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
