Microsoft encoding appears when I want to view photos from an SD card. I want to get rid of this alert. How?Moved from Office insider.

Photos and videos transferred to SD card no longer appear in photos

We want to know more about the missing photos after upgrading your Windows phone. Please provide the following information:

• Have you tried to check if the photos were successfully backed up on the SD card before upgrading?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

 

can not see photos on my sd card with windows 10 works fine on other computers with 7 or 8

  Since when did the issue appearing? Have you made any changes in settings prior to the issue?
  
• 
  What is the status of SD card memory space?
  
• 
  Are you able to see the photo icons in the SD card?
  
• 
  Are you able to see other files in SD card?
  

I suggest you to copy the files to a different location and check if it is opening.



If you are unable to see the photo icons, follow the below steps and check.

• 
  Click on Windows Key +E
  
• 
  Click on View
  
• 
  Check Hidden Item

Viewing contents of SD card

Recently I upgraded from W7 to W10. My desktop has a built-in card reader. My problems is about inserting a SD card from my camera into the computer’s card reader. In W7, a small window appeared listing a number of options for dealing with the SD card, including
viewing the files on the card using Windows Explorer. Now, in W10, the first photo on the card is displayed using Windows Live Photo Gallery. Is there anything I can do to get the same kind of options, including opening in File Explorer, as I had in W7?
