Windows 10: Microsoft ergo wireless keyboard

I changed the batteries and a green light flashed. The keyboard stopped working. I've changed the batteries again uninstall driver rebooted system. I've tried everything the keyboard will not work. The separate number pad and mouse work just fine.

I use a Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergo Keboard 7000-Model1118. Old but reliable. I want to replace a Dongel-Wireless Intelli mouse-model 1009. It is bulky and slower than molasses and just died. Apparently, modern mouses do not work with my current keyboard. Any suggestions?

If you're wanting the new mouse to work through the old keyboards USB connector, that won't work. A new wireless mouse that comes with its own USB connector should work.

compatibillity of microsoft ergo keyboard and packardbell computer hdmi

I purchased a new Microsoft ergo keyboard and won't work with my packer bell computer. The company I bought it from say it should. I phoned PC World and the say it should be alright. Am I missing something in my setting up, any suggestions. Pierre.
PS. By the way I am on windows 10.
