Windows 10: Microsoft Ergonomic Mouse & keyboard stopped working

Hello Microsoft Support,


I had purchased Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse about few months ago. They used to work completely fine but one day they stopping functioning - I tried the following so far :


1. Changed batteries - didn't work

2. Disconnected both devices in the bluetooth settings and connected again - didnt work

3. Reinserted the trans-receiver USB - it shows the two devices are connected as shown below but the devices do not work



I have tried using the devices on another computer but it does not work. Please help!

Recommend a keyboard/mouse?

Right now I'm looking to get the Logitech MX3200, but was looking at Microsoft Ergonomics Keyboard 4000. But Could not really find a wireless mouse that stood out. I can do with a wired keyboard, but any suggestions on a good wireless mouse?

What would you guys recommend? MX3200 or Microsoft 4000 + whatever wireless mouse

 

Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse stopped working

So my Sculpt Ergonomic mouse stopped working.

It seems to be some sort of error with the wireless dongle hardware.

I have tried all the various steps listed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/811798.

When I check the USB receiver's status in the Device Manager it gives me the following error:

Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Then inside the Properties I get:

Windows has stopped this device as it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I uninstalled and re-installed the device as recommended here https://msdn.microsoft.com/windows/hardware/drivers/install/cm-prob-failed-post-start

No change.

I should note that this mouse is actually a replacement for the first one I had. The first mouse I had stopped working in exactly the same way and I got a replacement from Microsoft through the re-seller.

I fear I might have to go through the arduous process of replacement AGAIN.
