  1. Microsoft Family Safety cannot block Avast Secure Browser

I've attempted to set usage restrictions and time limits on Avast Secure Browser using Microsoft Family settings on my child's laptop, but they're not effective. She's using this browser as an alternative to bypass the parental controls on Edge. Despite Microsoft Family's inability to enforce these limits on Avast Browser, the blocked applications list shows seven entries for Avast Secure Browser marked as "Locked." However, this clearly isn't the case. Can you explain why these restrictions aren't functioning with Avast Browser?I have provided feedback to the Microsoft team, and I h

Windows 10 Family Safety is blocking my browser!!!

Can you confirm if you are out of the Family Safety feature on your parent's account on this
link? If you've confirmed that you're no longer on the list of monitored child accounts, we suggest deleting the Family Safety folder. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows key + E on your keyboard.
    • On the address bar, type this address C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls and press
      Enter.
    • Delete all contents of the Parental Controls folder.
    • Restart and see if the issue is resolved.

Let us know how it went for you.

    Family Safety Issue With Websites

    Hi, KeyRing42

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with Microsoft's family safety features where a website is being incorrectly blocked or not recognized as valid. Here are a few steps you could try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check the URL: Ensure that the URL is entered correctly in the family safety settings. Sometimes, the 'www' is necessary, or it could be an 'https' issue.
    2. Try a Different Browser: If you're using Microsoft Edge, try accessing the site with a different browser to see if the issue is browser-specific.
    3. Add as an Allowed Site: If you haven't already, try adding 'example.com' to the list of allowed sites within the Microsoft Family Safety settings.
    4. Check the Website's Security Certificate: Sometimes, security settings can block sites with invalid or expired certificates. You can check this by visiting the site and looking at the security information in the browser's address bar.
    5. Use a Different Device: Check if the issue persists on a different device. This can help determine if the problem is with the device or the account settings.
Please ensure that the website in question is safe and appropriate for the child before attempting to bypass any safety features.

    Best Regards
