  1. Microsoft Family Safety - Chrome still locks up after granting permissions

Hi,I have two kids with remote learning at home. They both uses Windows 10 PC and occasionally their teachers need them to do works that seems to only work or works better with Chrome. As the app usage time was up every 3 hours, a new request had to be sent. I have no problem receiving and granting such requests. However the apps wouldn't automatically resume to work unless they restart their computers. Please advice, thank you.

    :)

Granting family permissions for chrome does not work even if approved

I've searched and there are a number of threads on this already. None of the solutions work.

The family settings show that permission is granted.

    "

    Google Chrome
Allowed. You gave Laetitia permission to use Google Chrome.

    "

But every time I click on chrome it still displays the ask a question prompt. No errors anywhere.

Tried the previous troubleshooting options in other threads.

    Method 1:
    Family Safety Troubleshooter.

    Download and run the Family
    Safety Troubleshooter
and check if this troubleshooter finds any error.

    Method 2:
Turning Off Block Inappropriate Apps, Games & Media Option.

    Follow the section Online from
Block inappropriate apps, games, and media on Windows 10 and Xbox One
and turn Off the option Block inappropriate apps, games & media.

Once you turn off this option, ask your child to access Google Chrome. If he is able to access Google Chrome, turn On the above option and tell him to access Google Chrome, then you can approve his request and check if he is
able to access Google Chrome after the approval.

    Method 3:
    Removing And Adding Your Child.

If the above methods didn't work, then I suggest you to
Remove Your Child From The Family Group and then
Add Your Child To The Family Group again and this will refresh
    the permissions for your child.

The last suggestion on the thread doesn't even make sense:

I suggest you to login to Google Chrome using your account > Go to
Settings in Google Chrome > Supervised Users Dashboard > Then, check if you can give access to your child.

The computer cant open chrome so how are we supposed to log in?

Please help as the schools apps are using chrome.

  3. Family Safety - Chrome Unblocking Itself

    Hello Jamie,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community.

We regret for the inconvenience. Let me assist you to resolve the issue from here.

From the description provided, I understand that the screen time usage is inaccurate for the child account/s you are referring to.

Please follow the below suggested methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    Method 1

Now, as an initial recommendation, I suggest you to view and check the family settings for the child by signing in to the Microsoft account using a browser.

    Account security and Online safety.

    https://account.microsoft.com/privacy

You may change the More security settings under account security and
family safety settings/Manage permissions for children under Online safety in the above link.

    Method 2

If it still does not help, I suggest you to remove the child account from your Microsoft Family Safety settings and check if it is the Family Safety feature which is preventing the child account to access Office products.

    Follow the below steps.

    • From a web browser, go to
      http://account.microsoft.com/family
and sign in with the Microsoft account of an adult in the family.

    • To remove a child, choose Remove at the top of the section labeled
Select a child to view or edit their settings.
    • Select the person you want to remove from the family
    • Select the Remove button that appears when you've chosen the person to remove.

Additionally, I also suggest you to visit to the below link on Family Safety

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/family

Refer to the section Set limits for your child.

Also, refer to the section 'How can I tell if the Family Safety service is connected to my PC and set up correctly?' in the article provided.

  4. Microsoft Family Safety - Chrome still locks up after granting permissions

    Microsoft Family Safety problems

Permission has been granted for a program to run, but the program still is blocked by family safety

    1)

    Ask for permission
You'll need to ask an adult in your family if you can use:

    blah.exe

    2) Request sent via e-mail

    3) Granted

    4) Still won't work
