I have been having an issue trying to access some basic websites including University library links. Microsoft keeps asking me to ask permission from a family member. I am not in any family groups and when I try to "leave group" which just shows me there is no option to do so.

  3. Family Safety Issue With Websites

    Hi, KeyRing42

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with Microsoft's family safety features where a website is being incorrectly blocked or not recognized as valid. Here are a few steps you could try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check the URL: Ensure that the URL is entered correctly in the family safety settings. Sometimes, the 'www' is necessary, or it could be an 'https' issue.
    2. Try a Different Browser: If you're using Microsoft Edge, try accessing the site with a different browser to see if the issue is browser-specific.
    3. Add as an Allowed Site: If you haven't already, try adding 'example.com' to the list of allowed sites within the Microsoft Family Safety settings.
    4. Check the Website's Security Certificate: Sometimes, security settings can block sites with invalid or expired certificates. You can check this by visiting the site and looking at the security information in the browser's address bar.
    5. Use a Different Device: Check if the issue persists on a different device. This can help determine if the problem is with the device or the account settings.
Please ensure that the website in question is safe and appropriate for the child before attempting to bypass any safety features.

    Best Regards

Microsoft Family Safety Issue: Asking For Permission to View Website When There is No Parent Connected

When I try to go on some websites, it says "You'll need to ask to use this webiste"; and it has a button to click on "Ask Now". It won't let me access the website, which is odd because there are no parents or family members connected to my computer. There are no other devices connected with Microsoft Family Safety.

How I remove this restriction? How does this glitch get removed? It isn't allowing me to access basic websites when I don't use this application at all.
