Microsoft Family sharing and play anywhere

I purchased Gears of war 4 from Microsoft store which I am playing on my gaming laptop and don't own Xbox one. I would like to play this game with my sons on another 2 PCs.

I have successfully added everyone to Microsoft family and installed the game using my account signed into Microsoft store. Switching the store account back to my sons is also fine, it recognizes them in family and shows the Play button.

What I am unsure about is playing online simultaneously. It works fine for the most part but every so often one of PCs will exit the game back to desktop with no errors or anything. This might be due to long list of issues this game has had with graphics drivers or what not.

Can anyone clarify if it is OK to do this under family sharing or will I have to purchase 2 more copies of the game and if the game quitting could be because of 3 people playing simultaneously?

Just to clarify, everyone is logging onto their computers with their outlook account, xbox app and store as themselves.

    :)

  3. Microsoft Family

    Hi,

It could be because of the settings on the Family and Safety feature or the account you're using is added to a Family. With that being said, we suggest that you check if the account that you are using is a part of the
Family list. To check on it, go to Cortana
    and search for Family Options.

To remove your account to the Family, you may follow the steps below:

    • Use the Adult account to log in using this link.
    • Click on the Family tab.
    • On the account that you want to remove, click More > Remove from family.
    • Then click Remove to confirm.

Let us know how it goes and feel free to get back to us if you need further assistance.

Videos shared in family room don't play

    Hi,

My girlfriend and I use the family room to share photos, but we are having trouble sharing videos. We both have Lumia 920's. When she takes a video on the phone, the context menu allows her to share it in the family room. When I go to play the video, it
says that it is in an unsupported file format, and I can't play it.

Is there any reason that this would be? Why doesn't the family room support videos? We can't get any shared videos between us to play on the other's phone, but we can play the videos on our phone (ie. the one it was shot on...) My phone is up to date, we
are on Rogers in Canada if that makes any difference; perhaps there is a software update heading down the pike?
