  2. Can the hololense work in the real world?

    Hi Scott

The Hololens is not available to the general public yet.

The Hololens program that Microsoft is offering is for the developers who will be developing apps for the Hololens.

Go to the following website. Click the links on the Blue Menu Bar. Enjoy.

    Microsoft HoloLens

    Flag files in File explorer

    Hi,

A way to do this is to add the 'Tag' field in the view, and to change the content of that field in the properties section (under Info) in the Office application.

Not a real Flag, but it works.

I just had a thought. The potential for Law Enforcement using the HoloLens would be very high indeed. Imagine CSI running a digital scan of a crime scene and then using the HoloLens as a virtual walkthrough the of crime scene. Not only would this give an insight and possibly through the eyes of the perpitrator of the crime. But detectives could look over the crime scene as though they where they were actually there instead of revisiting the crime scene via photo evidence from the crime.

    The potential is overwhelming...

Why would I need to imagine it? That's like, what they do in every episode of CSI *Wink

I have a horrible feeling that this tech is going to be priced out of reach of the average person. *Sad Few buyers = few quality apps. This needs to be at a good price point.

I would have to agree, although $500~ USD would be acceptable to me. I see this being used more for businesses though.

  10. 500 would be at the high range for what I would be willing to spend. For that, better have compelling apps.

Not sure if you seen the Minecraft thing...but I'm thinking like letting me play some type of real time strategy game on my table would be the kicker for me, and I'd pay some money for that. Heck, Logitech came out with the new steering wheel racing set for Xbox one, finally with a freaking clutch and manual shifter, and that's $460USD which I already pre-ordered lol

  12. Lol. Your wheel more $ than the xbone. *Wink I saw all the demos and more, and love my Oculus, tho games may help adoption of the masses, it needs real world use. I would love vr training, vr tours, multiple people interaction, full vr desktop. I could think of many things that would be productive. I want, but if I can't find a compelling use, forget it. When I was younger, I had to have every cool and new gadget, I can afford it now, but am more discriminating on what I buy based upon real use.

LOL I know its sad, I just love gaming. But yeah, that's why I mentioned I think the holo will be more for business productivity than personal pleasure. I think the Rift will handle the entertainment side of things and the holo will do business, I remember some demo of the holo showing how you can use email or office on the wall while viewing TV next to it. But, I'm still getting a Rift because I have no room for a 90"+ TV and it'll probably be cheaper *Biggrin

  14. We got the xbone because of the backwards compatibility and fallout 4. Otherwise wouldn't have. I have to see if the hololens gives me a value added use. We shall see.

Yeah I've been on xbox bandwagon since the beginning, I had a PS1 but then I experienced Xbox Live in its infancy and it was really cool back then and I was hooked, no annoying 10 year olds blasting music and singing into their mics or racial wars back then, all the while Sony was trying to figure it out (I think they still are) Microsoft finally shows the HoloLens' real field of view :p Now I have everything unfortunately as my needs don't cater to just one system lol
