Microsoft Fingerprint Scanner shows up in "Other Device" not in Biometric devices. Windows Hello never finds it. On bootup the Microsoft brand Microsoft Fingerprint scanner does a quick light up and then goes dark. I've tried windows Hello. I have windows 11 Pro 10-02-22631 Build 22631 on a lenovo Thinkpad t490The laptop is on a Docking station. I've tried USB ports on the docking station and the tried going in directly to the laptop. Same result. Nothing.

Fingerprint scanner not showing in device manager and biometrics in settings.

Hi user131, my name is John D. an independent advisor happy to help you with this.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the fingerprint scanner is not showing in the device manager and biometrics in settings. To troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend trying the following steps:

    > Restart your computer and log in using the pin.

    > Open the biometric section of the device manager and right-click on the scanner. > Select Enable from the context menu.

    > View hidden devices in Device Manager by clicking on the View menu and selecting Show hidden devices from the list of options.

If you are able to view the biometric devices after making these changes, it indicates that these are either disconnected, not working, or disabled from the BIOS.

You can also check this: https://silicophilic.com/fingerprint-scanner-no...

    Or this: https://windowsreport.com/biometric-devices-not...

I hope this information is helpful to you.

    Best regards,

    John D.

    Method 3:
