Windows 10: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Game Pass Install Issue : After trying to move game from...

Hello!


This is largely my fault as I should have known better and just uninstalled the game normally and reinstalled it on a different drive, but instead, I tried to use the Add and Remove Programs feature in windows to move MSF2020 from a Hard Disk to an SSD. By doing so I seemed to have triggered some digital ownership rights issue within Xbox Game Pass. The game now when trying to install simply refuses to on any drive on the computer. I have tried resetting the Microsoft Store preferences, removing the Xbox App itself, and trying to reinstall it to the original drive it was stored on, none of which has worked. The error I am getting refers to "Digital Ownership" being unable to install, and the error code is 0x87e00017

Any suggestions? I am completely at a loss, and do not want to reinstall Windows to fix this issue, which I am fearing I am going to have to do just that.

Flight Simulator 2020 Re-Install

Hello Havster,

If your PC meets the recommended requirements then you can install the game without problems.

If you have the game already paid then it's very simple. You go to the site where you bought the game (or Microsoft Store) and install it. If not, you can buy it from here:

I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.

I have Game Pass, played the game, and want to buy it to own it?

You will need to go to the Edition of the game you are wanting to buy, then click buy to own from the store.

How long will the game be in the Game Pass for?

We do not know. This is up to Xbox, and they will remove it when they are adding a new collection of the game. If you are enjoying it, you may want to buy it to keep from the store. Once you have done this, you will be able to take off where you landed.

Is the game available in Windows 10 S Mode?

No, the game is not available in Windows 10 S mode. If you want the game, you would need to come out of S Mode. Please be aware that coming out of S Mode means you will be unable to go back into it. You will also be able to download apps and programs from
the Internet.
