Windows 10: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Upgrade Fails

My Microsoft Flight Simulator had been working fine. The last time I started it up, it went into checking for upgrades, and found the 1.8... upgrade. I clicked the up[grade button and now it is stuck in a download loop playing the music even when in background with this message:



Downloading ascobo-flight-tutorials-basicinstruments-0.1.22.fspackage...



The percent complete is shown with 8% but it varies from 0 to 9% [8%] . I have used the recommended netsh command, disabled the firewalls, uninstalled from Steam library and then re-installed. None of these band-aids have worked.


I have also seen other packages get stuck and I have seen some fly by quickly.



DSL network service here at 2mps up 20 down. Initial download was uneventful. I have tried ethernet and WiFi connection to the DSL modem / router.



Any suggestions would be appreciated. Even if the music cannot be stopped, I can live with that as long as I get the update packages to download. This should not be rocket science!


I am willing to try a few more things.

Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.
