Samsung 970 Evo vs SK Hynix P31 M.2 SSD?

I will be ordering a new 1tb nvme ssd tomorrow. I had decided i will be buying the samsung 970 evo when looking at reviews until some people on another forum suggested the sk hynix p31 becauee not only is it as good as the samsung evo... and it uses a lot less power in power consumption.


Now i had no idea about this but apparently samsung ssd's uses lot of power consumption and they said because of that, you would actually have more battery with the sk hynix as oppose to samsung ssd. But is it that much? Someone said you probably have an additional 10 minutes with it... someone said maybe 30 minutes at the most. But they also said the samsung ssds get very hot etc.


Now i asked if the price was the same, which would you buy, some ppl said they would take the sk hynix, which shocked me. Now which ssd should i choose here? Again i will be getting 1tb nvme one. I was going to go with samsung because of the great reviews but not only that, i read the samsung magician cloning software is the best. I will be cloning my 250gb 2.5 inch samsung sata ssd into the new nvme. So should i just buy the samsung 970 evo? People say you overpaying for samsung name and also it gets really hot. The sk hynix almost everyone suggest


Also someone mentioned there isn't encryption in the sk hynix? I use bitlocker and have windows 10 pro and need bitlocker because i want a pin/password when you turn on the laptop. But sk hynix would still work for this or not? Someone said sk hynix doesnt have 256 aes encryption... but is that related to bitlocker or not?


I thought samsung evo is best choice because of the name, and how i read the cloning process is really easy. Now if i get sk hynix, what program would i use to clone? Their program or something else? Would like feedback from ppl who used either of these nvme ssd. Thanks.

I said, "I'm" partial to Samsung SSD drives. I've never used SK Hynix (never even heard of them) so I can't say how they compare.

Do I think Samsung's SSD/NVME drives are good... Well I've been using Samsung SSD's for over 6 years and currently have 5 in my system - 3 EVO drives, and 2 NVME 970 Pro drives. Add that Samsung's SSD drives are very popular.

That's my answer.
