Windows 10: Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth just stopped working

Hi! Short story: the integrated MIDI does not work in Windows 10 x64Longer story: Been experimenting with VirtualMidiSynth. Loaded soundfonts....everything was fine, I could choose between GS Wavetable and VirtualMidi whenever I wished. Then I did this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfbbzN9XuPwI edited the midimapper string as per the video. After that GS Wavetable disappeared from every list completely. I uninstalled both Bassmidi and VirtualMidiSynth then reedited the string "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32" to be the same as before. String is "mid

GS Wavetable synth settings?

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue. You can choose an instrument in Digital Audio Workspaces that allow you to output to it.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Open your Digital Audio Workspace (DAW) and create a new MIDI track.

2. select the GS Wavetable Synth as the output device in the MIDI track.

3. In the DAW’s instrument rack, select an instrument that you want to use with the GS Wavetable Synth.

4. Play your MIDI controller or draw in notes on the MIDI track to hear the instrument through the GS Wavetable Synth.

Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth ?

Hello, Within Device Manager there is listed within Software Devices...Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth which i never took notice of. Just out of curiosity...do you plug in a real synthesizer via some connecting console to back of pc to use this ..or is there a is a built in synthesizer which is hidden ? My OS is Windows 10 Pro 21H2 version 19044.1949 with latest updates.

Therefore, I only use MIDI Yoke port to play midi.

How can I restore Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth?
