1.5 hours ago I wanted to print a document . The laptop and printer were working fine .now , despite annoying updates turned off , everything is changed .I have dealt with microsoft for years . However now the updates constantly do damage and waste my timeon a regular basis . WHEN UPDATE IS TURNED OFF THAT MEANS I WANT ZERO MEDDLING WITH MY HARDWARE .the updates only serve to harass , nothing else .between wiped SSD after update and countless other problems over the last year my equipment is virtually useless .I plan on consulting attorney to discuss legal remedies available to get this compan

Printer not working

How have you connected the printer to your computer? Is it wired or wireless connection?

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select View all on the top left corner.
  
• 
  Click Hardware and Devices.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the driver

I suggest you to try uninstall the Mouse, Touchpad and Printer drivers check if it works for you.
Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Right-click on the Touchpad device listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
• Select the option to Delete driver software.
• Follow the same steps to uninstall Mouse and Printer drivers.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled.

Try to access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset, touchpad and Printer drivers.

  Have you installed any third party software in compute?
  

I suggest you to make printer as a default printer you can follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key+ X and select
  device manager.
  
• 
  Select devices and printers
  
• 
  Right click on the printer you want to use, and then click
  set as default printer (You'll see a check mark on the printer's icon signifying that it's now your default printer).
  

I also recommend you to run the print troubleshooter to check the issue.

• 
  Type troubleshooter in the search box and then press enter.
  
• 
  In the left pane click on View all.
  
• 
  Select the printer option and
  follow the on screen instructions.
  

If the issue persists, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and check if it helps

• Press Windows key+ X and select device manager.
• 
  Select devices and printers.
  
• 
  Right click on printer driver and select uninstall.
  
• 
  Now try to install the printer drivers from manufacturing website.

• What is the model of printer?
• Is your computer connected to a domain network?

Uninstall the current printer drivers, download and install the latest printer drivers from HP website.

Place the computer in clean boot mode and install the driver.
