Windows 10: Microsoft Hello FingerPrint Scanner is no longer working

I am not exactly sure when this happened but I have notice that my computer will not allow me to use the finger print scanner to unlock windows. I have made sure everything has been updated but I am not having any luck. I am thinking that some of my troubleshooting has made the issue worse, I am hoping someone can help me out here. I have updated all optional drivers through windows update, I have updated the latest BIOS, I am go through Device Manager to update drivers or rollback drivers and nothings has worked. I will attach screenshot of what I am looking at and event viewer. As far a

Fingerprint Scanner Not Working

To resolve this issue try the following steps:

• 
  Have you updated the driver for the Finger Print scanner? If not, check on the manufacturer’s website (HP).
  
• 
  Check if installing the latest driver of the fingerprint scanner allows you to login using a Microsoft Account?
  

This issue might occur due to driver incompatibility since upgrading to Windows 10.



If you have the raw executable file of the corresponding driver for the validity sensor, I would suggest you to install the downloaded driver file in compatible mode with Windows 7 or 8. Refer to the following steps to do so.

• 
  Right click on the driver, and click on Properties.
  
• 
  Go to the Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  
• 
  Select Windows 7 in the list of Operating systems.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  
• 
  Double-click the driver file to install the driver and follow the onscreen instructions.
  
• 
  Reboot your computer.

Windows Hello Fingerprint not working

This is still not working after doing all those steps, please help after the Windows update it stopped working and it says the following : we couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint.

After taking all the steps you suggested on here it says i have the latest update.

 

We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner/camera Windows Hello

Hello, I'm experiencing some issues while trying to enable the Windows Hello login via camera and fingerprint. Basically I have this Windows 10 21H2 joined to a domain, and using administrative creds I've enabled the registry keys to enable Windows Hello and PIN login.

Unfortunately I'm not able to use the Hello camera or fingerprint despite the device is Windows Hello compatible (HP Elitebook G8). I've tried all the suggestion reported on the tutorials but still no luck, I have the error: We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint On both camera and fingerprint. Both devices are recognized properly via devmgmt. Do you have any suggestion? Thank you!
