Windows 10: Microsoft IPP Class Driver-will not allow my printer to print in color

Hello, I realized that my printer which is a Brother MFC_J995DW Printer, no longer prints in color and does not give that option when the print screen comes up. Apparently the model: Microsoft IPP Class Driver features are no color and only offers grayscale and monochrome. I would like to either uninstall this Microsoft IPP Class Driver or somehow go back to my old settings. I really need the option to print in color. I have already updated my printer's driver, which they gave me this: Microsoft IPP Class Driver

Solved: HP ENVY 5540 Not Printing in Color on PCs With Windows 10

So the Microsoft IPP Class Driver wasn't an option following these instructions but I found it another way:

• Go To Settings and the Printers & Scanners
  
• Install HP ENVY 5540 series with default drivers if you have not already
  
• Once installed, click on it and select Manage
  
• Select Printer Properties
  
• Click the Advanced Tab
  
• Find the Driver Drop down menu and change it to Microsoft IPP Class Driver
  

Apply the changes and it should work. Perhaps reboot if necessary, but that is all I had to do to get it to have color printing as an option and working again. Man this was making me rage but glad that JoeBela pointed us in the right direction.

 

How do I change the Microsoft IPP Class Driver back to the Canon driver?

I have a Canon MG 7720. Printing from my HP laptop has been fine until recently. The Canon printer properties started displaying incorrectly, and the 'Type' showed 'Microsoft IPP Class Driver. I tried reloading the Canon install disk and rebooting. How
can I change that driver? I also downloaded the Canon MG recommended driver and installed it...

 

"Microsoft IPP Class Driver" installs by default when attempting to use Brother MFC-J5720DW printer on network, and it prints, but full-page portrait prints end up half-size printed sideways

I find that when using Windows 10 (1903) settings to add a Brother MFC-J5720DW printer available on a network, by default, it installs with "Microsoft IPP Class Driver" as the printer driver.

You can then print, but portrait prints end up half-size and printed sideways, highly unexpected.

Solution: downloaded and installed the driver kit from Brother, which made it use a different driver, default Microsoft driver seems somewhat broken for use with the printer.

Is this kind of issue where a wrong a defect with driver identification? I would have expected the printer operation to be effectively plug-and-play.
