Windows 10: Microsoft keyboard 1014 and mouse 1025: pair with another dongle? If not, how to take apart?

I found a disowned Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.1 model 1014 and Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Mouse model 1025. However, I have not found the dongle. Although other posts have said the keyboard and dongle are uniquely paired and cannot pair to another dongle, I am not sure if this is the case for 1014 and 1025, since they both have a connect button.If they cannot be paired, then I am considering taking apart the keyboard and perhaps hacking the electronics to use Bluetooth or something.

Hi Forum,

I have a Microsoft 'Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop' (keyboard, mouse, number pad, dongle) model L5V-0000?. I have downloaded the driver for Windows 10 64-bit. Bluetooth is enabled on my laptop. The keyboard and mouse display ready to pair.

However, I cannot find a pairing key on either the mouse, keyboard or dongle. I cannot find an existing answer on these forums for this specific keyboard and mouse set. Please advise where the pairing key(s) are.

(There is no button underneath the keyboard, or at the sides, nor underneath the mouse (apart from the mouse on/off button)).

pair or reprogram dongle for other mouse & keyboard

I have a microsoft 2.4 ghz transceiver v7.0 connected keybord 2000. I want to connect mouse 2000 how can i pair. or i can remove keyboard 2000 from dongle and connect 5000.

 

Lost Microsoft Sculpt Ergo Keyboard, but still have mouse and USB dongle. How to pair new keyboard to old dongle

Delta airlines lost my suitcase that had my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard in it. I still have the Mouse and dongle so I ordered another sculpt ergo keyboard.

However, to my surprise, I realized the keyboard has its own dongle and doesn't communicate with the old dongle that works with my mouse. I don't have an extra USB port so I can't use both at the same time, so either keyboard or mouse....

Is there any way to pair a keyboard to the same dongle the mouse uses like it used to be or do I have to return the keyboard and buy a non-Microsoft keyboard and mouse from a company like Logitech since they are re-programable.
