Windows 10: Microsoft keyboard stopped working in windows 10

Hi all

I have a Microsoft usb keyboard that has stopped working. When I turn on the PC it goes to the logon screen and I can type my password in. After that it will not work in any program. I can not type a thing. Wireless mouse is fine.

I have tried virus scan......no issues. I have tried unplugging keyboard rebooting and replug in. I have tried deleting device in device manager and allowing a reinstall

What next?

keyboard not working after windows 10 upgrade

i have a dell inspiron 3542. i upgraded to windows 10 but after a few days my keyboard stopped working. the keyboard works perfectly fine in BIOS but fails to work when windows is turned on. microsoft tells me to contact dell and dell tells me to contact
microsoft.

 

After upgrading to Windows 10 my wireless keyboard stops working periodically

This problem with the device driver for the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard is still happening periodically.

In answer to your questions:

1) Yes, I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The problems started after the upgrade to Windows 10.

2) The problem is not associated with any specific program. The keyboard has stopped working while I am typing in just about every program that I use.

3) Yes, all of the latest updates are installed, and auto update is enabled. I also manually uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard using the link that you provided above. This did not fix the issue and the problem
is still occurring.

Windows 10 is still periodically removing the "Microsoft Wireless Transceiver" device and driver (which works fine) and replacing it with the "Microsoft
Nano Transceiver v2.1" device along with the message "Driver is unavailable". This causes my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard to stop working every time Windows 10 makes this change.

Each time my keyboard stops working I still have to manually click to remove the "Microsoft
Nano Transceiver v2.1" device, and then unplug the Microsoft USB transceiver and plug it back in again so that Windows 10 will put the "Microsoft Wireless Transceiver" device and driver back again..
