Windows 10: Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 on Windows 10 continuously disappearing in Device Manager then...

I have a HD-3000 camera on a small HP Elitedesk 800 G1 mini computer but the darn thing intermittently disconnects. I can open device manager and just watch it appear and disappear. I am fully patched on the OS. Can't seem to find any firmware to update and am a bit of a loss on this one. I have already tried the reset and a few other things I saw on the internet. I tried it on an older Lenovo laptop and it just fails to connect completely.

Hello, my name is Bradford, I'm an Independent Advisor for the Microsoft Community and I will try to assist you. Post, Windows 7, there are no signed drivers for the Lifecam HD 3000, however, built into Windows there is a generic webcam driver that might
get your Lifecams working again.

Please follow these steps:

1. Open "Device Manager".

2. Expand "Imaging devices".

3. Locate the name of your "Lifecam HD 3000 camera" in the list and right-click on it.

4. Select Update Driver Software.

5. Click Browse my computer for driver software.

6. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

7. Check Show compatible hardware, and then select "USB Video Device".

8. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver.

Similar problems here with my "LifeCam HD-3000" no longer working in W10.

I suggest that Microsoft change the marketing ...

"DeathCam HD-3000" seems more appropriate

 

Windows 10 software for Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000

I recently updated my computer to Windows 10, 64 bit. However, I soon found out that my LifeCam VX-3000 is not supported but the HD-3000 is. So I purchased a LifeCam HD-3000 which just arrived in a box with a Windows 10 compatibility sticker. The quick
install guide says to go to www.mocrosoft.co/hardware/downloads to get the software. But. guess what, there are no drivers for Windows 10 listed.

The camera shows up as a device and device manager indicates that the drivers are current. However, I do not have any software to access controls, etc. I can not even confirm that it is really working.

I have been checking on line for workarounds but, I should not have to... I purposely bought a Microsoft Camera that Microsoft says is compatible with Windows 10 to ensure compatibility. How do I obtain the software?????

This is really frustrating.
