Windows 10: Microsoft LifeCam Studio not working on Windows 10

Hello,


I have a LifeCam HD-500 and the auto-focus is really annoying. I'm trying to turn it off but I've read this has to be done in the LifeCam Studio.

I tried to install LifeCam 3.60, but it won't work. I can't even find the app in the start menu and I have no clue where it's installed.


I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several time, runnin it and/or installing it in Win XP, Win 7 and Win 8 copatibility mode but nothing happens.


Any help ?

There may not be, or need be, any software to install at all?

With your LifeCam connected what happens when you click on "Camera" in the "All Apps" list? If it is there, and if it opens (big ifs) are there three dots showing that are clickable and take you to "Settings"?

Today, I successfully installed from Windows Updates, Microsoft - Camera - Microsoft LifeCam Studio for my existing LifeCam. However, my computer cannot locate LifeCam. I did confirm that Microsoft LifeCam is definitely installed on my computer but I
cannot find the icon which opens the program. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks.

I don't think that LifeCam is fully compatible with Windows 10 as Windows 10 isn't listed on the operating system scroll on https://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/lifecam-studio.
