We just bought a new laptop. we were in the process of setting it up and after we successfully entered our Microsoft user acct details and setting up the computer system, we were notified that our account has locked due to "suspicious activity." We followed the prompts and entered the information they're looking for. Microsoft sent us another email asking us DOB, EMAIL, last 4 of credit card if it was ever used to purchase any Microsoft items ect and to fill out that form on the computer you use frequently. Easy. we did that. We then get an email back that they're unable to recover our Mic

Trying to switch to Microsoft account from local, unable to...

I tried that, more than once. I go thru the complete procedure of getting a new Microsoft account password, then when I reach the final step to key in the Windows password, I try my NEW Microsoft account password, and I get the same message-invalid password. No luck.

Any other suggestions.
