Windows 10: Microsoft loses my settings, desktop icons, documents and pictures.

Hello guys. I hope you can point me in the right direction. I am having trouble with Microsoft. It is not preserving my settings. This is following a recent update. I use an old HP laptop, installed with Microsoft 10.Here’s a list of what had changed when I switched on this morning.The lockscreen picture was gone. In its place was one of Microsoft’s pictures. Fortunately I was able to get the original picture back, plus the other four. I alternate between them.The desktop screen was previously solid green. Now it had reverted back to Microsoft’s default of blue, with the Microsoft symbol as a

One drive syncing Documents, Pictures and Desktop automatically

To disabling OneDrive sync, do the following:

Note: Before proceeding, copy the files in those special folders to another folder or external drive. Please don’t copy them anywhere under Desktop/Documents/Pictures. This is because disabling OneDrive backup for a folder erases the local copies of the files. Copying them to a different location beforehand will ensure that you don’t need to download them again from the OneDrive cloud.

1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area and click Settings.
   
2. Select the Backup tab, and click Manage Backup
   
3. In the Manage folder backup dialog, click on the Stop backup link under the special folder (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures)
   
4. Click Stop backup in the confirmation dialog that appears.
   
5. Repeat the step for each shell folder you want to revert to the original location.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
