Windows 10: Microsoft lowers app installs from 81 to 10 devices with Windows 10

I have one device I can't remove. It was one of the test installs I used in a VM. When I try I get a message that says Try a different url. We don't have anything to show at this link. Try searching for what you want, instead

 

I'd love to meet the person that has 81 devices or that will be affected by this.

This may cause a slight hiccup for me, but probably not. I use a dummy Microsoft Account for final setup when I do my custom image deployments of 8.1. Instead of using mine, I just use the dummy one that syncs all the Start Screen layouts, apps and updates, and other fun personalization things I don't need to manually do. But I can probably just delete the PCs I already have done from the account. No big deal.

When pressing any one of them in OneDrive online it says it cannot connect to it, so I figured it was old and deleted all that stated that. Now my computer name that I changed shows up there.

 

On my Lumia, but I think there's a link there to contact that division.

 

Some businesses might be, but I'm sure they would purchase a bundle to side load them.

 

This is actually a raising of the limit.... the original limit that is.

When Windows 8 was first released, the number was 5. This was too tight, and MS got a lot of feedback on it, so to celebrate the release of Windows 8.1, they changed the number of devices to 81. Now that 10 is being released, they're basically dropping back to the original limit, but raising It to 10 instead of going back to 5.

 

Ah, now it all makes sense. Thanks for that info. But seeing as this version of Windows will last forever, shouldn't we be allowed to install on an infinite amount of devices? *chuckle

 

Does this mean you can only do a fresh install on Windows 10, 10 times as I format my PC once per year? Or does it mean you can only install apps 10 times of there store, even purchased ones?

 

It means you can only install an app on 10 simultaneous devices using the same account.

 

I only have 4 devices, do Microsoft think we're all millionaires...
