Windows 10: Microsoft Mail - missing emails

Created numerous personal folders under "Folders" in Mail. Have been using them for years to save emails from various sources. Just this past week all the emails that were stored in them disappeared. The folders are all still there but when I open them the "Nothing has arrived yet" message appears. Some things I stored in the folders were important info. What happened to them and how do I get them back? I am running Win10 V21H1 Build 19043.1826 and the latest Win Update was July 12,2022.

Emails missing in Microsoft Mail app after asking to "Fix an issue"

We understand the concern as you are having some difficulties in accessing the Emails on Mail app. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed? (Type winver
  in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the Version of Mail app installed on the PC?
• Who is the Email service provider?
• Did you check the Email account using a browser, whether emails are there or missing?
• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

We would suggest you to perform a reset of Mail app, then remove the Email Account from Mail app and again
reconfigure it.



Steps to Reset Mail app

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows Settings.
2. Click on Apps and select Apps & feature from the left pane.
3. Scroll and look for the Mail & Calendar app.
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.

Email contacts missing

1. If you open Mail app and click the + sign for New mail > type first couple of letters of a contact name > will a list of suggested names appear ?

2. Go to All apps > scroll to P > click People. Is the contact list there ?

• Are you using Microsoft account or any other account in Windows Mail app?

If you are using Microsoft Account then I suggest you to login through web browser and check whether you can find the emails or not.
