Windows 10: Microsoft Management Console MMC - "Unable to create new document"

Hello,I am attempting to start 'Services' but could not. I get the message "Unable to create new document" and search the internet for an answer. I've tried to use CMD admin sfc /scannow but it comes back with an error message "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."I was then told to run through my troubleshooter but it did not work. I tried to run MMC separately but the same message comes up. I ran DISM /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth as well as /restorehealth and it did nothing.I attempted to restore my computer but windows does not allow me to. I also have a p

Microsoft Management Console Unable to create new document

Windows 10 Pro Version 1809 Installed 1/13/2019 OS build 17763.253. Cannot open Device Manager by any means I have seen posted in the internet. I receive error message "Microsoft Management Console Unable to create new document". I had this problem on a similar PC and solved problem by doing something with three dll's and the problem went away. Unfortunately, I did not save the instructions I found on the internet. I have run the usual troubleshooting tools. I have on my desk an almost identical PC that does not have the problem. It is using OS build 17763.107. How to find the three dll's that need work or similar solution

Microsoft Management Console - unable to create new document

I've recently replaced my GPU, currently using a GEFORCE GTX 980 Ti.

Problems began when I tried downloading programs from ADOBE CC and they would stall and fail at 5%.

Right click START select DEVICE MANAGER and receive error message in subject.

Tried all solutions from this thread and received same error messages.

Do you mean that the MMC opens, but has nothing in it? If so, something has not been set up correctly. The MMC engine is used to show Services, but you shouldn't be seeing the MMC itself. If you've only just reinstalled W10 I would wipe it and install it again. If you have used it for a while and added stuff that would be time consuming to reinstall, then I would try an in-place repair install.

Settings is a Windows App and should have nothing to do with the MMC, but Services is an MMC snap-in, defined by the file services.msc in the System32 folder. You can run it manually by typing services.msc in the WinKey+R Run box. Other commonly used MMC snap-ins are Disk Management, Task Scheduler, the Event Viewer and Device Manager.





One particularly useful MMC snap-in is Computer Management ( compmgmt.msc ) which has all of the above (and more) in one place for easy access.
