Windows 10: Microsoft Media Creation Tool - should this create a bootable USB drive?

Hi,I have a USB external Hard Drive one TB in size with two partitions. I made the first partition 32 GB in size and formatted it as FAT32. It was assigned the letter D:. I made a second partition that includes all of the remaining space, and formatted it as NTFS. It was assigned the letter E:.I downloaded and ran the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. For options, I chose English as the language, Windows 10 as the edition, and 64-bit x64 as the architecture. For media, I selected "USB flash drive" and selected drive D: as the location where I wanted to create the media. After som

Download Windows 10 and check if you are able to create the bootable media.

Cannot create recovery drive or bootable usb using media creation tool

I have a Surface 4 and I am attempting to make a recovery drive and/or a bootable USB using media creation tool.

I have been searching the web and I have tried:

• sfc/scannow
• another USB drive

Any ideas what I can do? I have just completed this process on an older PC with no problems at all.

To assist you better with your concern, are you getting an error message upon creating a recovery drive, as well as creating a bootable USB drive? If yes, what's the error message?
