Windows 10: Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center - Comfort Optical Mouse 3000

I've downloaded installed, uninstalled Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center 13.222.137.0 at least a dozen times or more. This software detects my Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, but not so using my Comfort Optical Mouse 3000. The software suggests the Optical Mouse 3000 is supported. Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit x64 version 2004 build 19041.685 correctly detects the Mouse. Windows 10 is not in S mode. In Settings Devices Mouse the Mouse Properties dialog appears possessing a new tab "Mouse and Keyboard Center" and a hyperlink selection "Click here to change Microsoft mouse settings". When selected, the Mouse and Keyboard Center is launched, but the Keyboard setting view appears. I would like to continue using the Mouse for a number of reasons, but unfortunately I'm unable to assign a "Back Button". The mouse wheel is wonderfully smooth and free a graduated detents.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Microsoft Comfort Curve 3000 is not recognized by Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

First of all I have looked into this post:

I could not find the Comfort Curve 2000 driver on Microsoft's website.

My keyboard is the Comfort Curve 3000, and I wanted to use the mouse and keyboard center to create macros and change some keys functionalities.

I have looked into Microsoft's supported devices page:

Which devices are supported by Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center?

And it shows the Comfort Curve 2000 is compatible, but there's no Comfort Curve 3000 on the list.

Is there any way I can make my keyboard be recognized by the MS Mouse and Keyboard Center?

Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 Scrolling Requires More Scrolls

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



I understand that scrolling requires more scroll when using Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000.



We would like to know if the issues only when using a specific program or on all the programs.



However, I would suggest you to download
Mouse and Keyboard Center 11 on the computer and check if you can change the scroll settings as per your requirement.



You may also refer the steps mentioned in the section The scroll wheel on my mouse isn't working as I expect
from the article

Mouse functions no longer supported after updating to Windows 10 (Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000)

Hello,

After updating to Windows 10, my mouse is no longer supported in the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. My mouse is no longer listed and the program only shows my keyboard (Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, came in the same set). Per the compatibility
listing ( http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/help/windows-8/troubleshooting/mouse/supported-devices ), the Comfort Mouse 3000 is supported, but my Comfort
Optical Mouse 3000 is not, for whatever reason.

Because of this, I can no longer set my mouse buttons for specific programs. Previously I'd set my mouse's side button to zoom in on things with the magnifier (Magnifier.exe under the accessibility/ease of access settings), but I can't do that anymore,
at least without installing a third-party program.

I don't seem to be able to uninstall Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center v2.5.166 and replace it with an earlier version which may be compatible.

Is there a way to do this without other software?
