Windows 10: Microsoft movies shows black screen

I have used Movies&TV for years and purchased dozens of movies.I just tried watching a previously downloaded movie by double-clicking the downloaded file, but even though I'm signed in, the app shows only a blank black screen.I tried opening the same movie via the Microsoft Store, and found that my entire movie library has been erased all my app purchases are still there.I tried opening the Movies&TV app from the start menu, and got a message that it's not available in my country.Does this mean I lost all my content?Is there a way to access my purchases?Or was all the money I've sp

Can't download the movie I purchased for rental.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to download rented movies offline and check if that helps.

Steps:

1. Select the movie you want to rent and click on
   rent option.
2. Login using Microsoft account.
3. Once you have signed in, you will have two option
   to stream or download movies to this device to watch offline.
4. Select download movies to this device to watch offline and click on next.
5. After Choosing the Next option and you will be asked for the payment option.
6. Once the payment it done, open Movies & TV application to download the movie.

You will be able to watch the movie offline from
Movies and TV application. When you rent, the viewing period is 14 days from the time of your order or 24-48 hours from the time you start to watch (depending on the content you select), whichever comes first.



If you still facing issues downloading the movies after following the above steps. I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below, to fix issues with Microsoft store.



Steps:

• 1. Open store application on your pc.
  2. Click on the ellipses on right top corner of the screen.
  3. Logout and login back.

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?

Black Screen when playing a movie from Microsoft Store

I am having a problem when playing a movie from Microsoft store. When i use my laptop to watch Movies/TV shows its fine no problem, however when i try to watch it on my TV using HDMI cable, the movie is black screen and i can hear the sound fine. I can
watch the trailers of the movies but not the movie? I need help please i just want to watch on bigger screen. Cheers!
