Windows 10: Microsoft not sending me verification code to recover account for laptop login

My laptop has asked me to verify my email and it will send a code. It is the correct email but it is not sending any codes. I've been locked out of my laptop for a week.

I understand you're not receiving a verification code for your Microsoft account. If your security info's are up to date, you may be experiencing delays receiving the code which I have also experienced before. But if you have already waited too long and have made a couple of attempts, I suggest following the suggested steps in the "Troubleshooting verification code issues" section on the support page below.

Two-Step Verification notifications no longer work after using code

I had to log into my MS account one time without my two-factor device being online, so used the "I have a code" method (which, incidentally, takes more steps than it should). Now every MS login defaults to the code method, and when I click "Send an identity verification request to my Microsoft Authenticator app", it never sends the request. How do I re-enable the automatic Approve/Deny two-factor verification notifications?

 

Cannot login/ no verification code being sent

Hello all,

writing on behalf of a friend who recently clean-wiped their laptop and came back having to login with their Microsoft account.
After being asked for a verification code and putting in their mail address, they don't receive any mails.

Tried resetting the password for said account, but no luck without the verification code supposed to come in by e-mail.
Known alternative verification options are not available as they'd have to login to add any (and that doesn't work either without getting the code to log in?..)

No option to try it with a different/ new Microsoft account are visible to us.

Help would be much appreciated, thanks.
