Windows 10: Microsoft Office Attachments cannot be opened in Outlook 2016 and 2013 after windows update

Hi,Some laptops in my company suddenly cannot open Microsoft Office attachments. The error says the file is corrupted and cannot be opened. So, I copied the Outlook PST file to another laptop and attachments can be opened. I found out that, the issue happened after the Windows update. I uninstalled the updates that were installed before the issue occurred, some updates can be uninstalled, but some updates can't saying there was an error while uninstalling updates.So, I disabled Windows Update from services.ms, registry, and group policy, but when I tried restarting after uninstalling updates,

Conflict between Outlook 2013 and Office 2016

Had i known! *cry
Have had Outlook 2013 and Office 2013 setup separately and working just fine.
Wanted to update Office 2013 to 2016 so i did.
But now, Outlook 2013's search feature is totally inoperative.

 

How to get Windows 10 to update Microsoft Office 2016 using Windows Update?

I have Microsoft Office 2016 installed on my PC. In the past when I was using Office 2013, Office 2013 was automatically updated through "Windows Update" under Settings. However, this is not so for Office 2016. How can I get Windows 10 to update Microsoft Office 2016 using Windows Update?

 

Conflict between Outlook 2013 and Office 2016

Not familiar with sfc /scannow Hearsepilot.
Do i run that after installing Office 2016?
The later usually removes 2013 (with impact on Outlook 2013) prior to installing itself.
So, maybe it's better for me to simply remove Office 2013 first then install Office 2016.
