Windows 10: Microsoft Office Picture Manager CANNOT open SOME jpg files, NEVER in Outlook 2016. Solution?

Like many other persons I also prefer & want to continue Microsoft Office PICTURE MANAGER for its customization options, specially the very useful COMPRESS feature which is NOT offered by new "Photos" app. Strangely the Picture Manager app CANNOT DISPLAY SOME of jpg files- just black screen appear as above.Strange enough, sometimes it opens one jpg file but cannot open similar jpg file!! In MS Outlook 2016 NOT A SINGLE JPG file CAN BE OPENED by Picture Manager app, so I CANNOT COMPRESS LARGE PHOTOS to reduced size while emailing.Please offer solution how can Picture Manager show ALL jpg

MicroSoft Office Picture Manager Not opening Pictures when they double clicked on

Which version of Office was your copy Picture Manager installed from, 2010, 2007 or earlier?

Its possible because Office 2010 is in a quasi state of support, Windows 10 has broken some functionality.

If you are not running the latest version of Picture Manager, which was last included with Office 2010, I would try this method to install that version to see if it works.

If it still does not work, point to an image file in File Explorer

Right click it

Click Properties

Click the General tab

Click Change

Choose Picture Manager in the list if its available

If not, click More apps

Scroll down, click 'Look for another app on this pc

Browse C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)

Open the Office 14 folder and look for Picture Manager exe

Select it then click Open

I'm sitting here in the office, its the end of the year in the school system, and several employees transferring to alternative counties. With this it brings loads of transferring contacts to take with them from their company phone. Well, this one in particular sparked a guide idea. So here it is, How to transfer Outlook contacts to your Gmail account.


Step 1: Sign in to your outlook account.
step 2 In the top left hand corner click File > Import/Export > Export to file > Browse to desired place to save your file > export. Be sure you export the file as .csv (comma separated values)
Step 3 Log into your Gmail account
Step 4 Select 'Contacts' In the subsection you will see a 'Import' button on the right-hand side. Click it.
Step 5 Browse to the location where you saved it > Open it > Click Import.



I would have provided pictures, but I use neither Outlook or Gmail. Hope someone somewhere gets some use from this. *Toast :toast:

I'm thinking option one is going to be my only option. I'm fine with that as long as I can get Outlook to work with my ISP's pop3 e-mail. Last time I tried that with the new 2016 install I could not get it to work, no way no how. All the same settings that work with the ISO install?

EDIT: I should mention, for me as far as I know, neither of these options are a subscription. They use two different keys but they are perpetual one time activation licenses. I only ran the new download briefly though, as I could not get outlook to work. I bailed and went back to what works.
