That is a very good point. *Smile

You'd have to have some sort of master program list on the server (Active Directory?).
A client PC would have to request authorization to run executable files.

Some sort of Group Policy Rules that would only allow authorized code to run, might work.

Maybe both, plus an alert for the Admin, to warn them that unauthorized programs were on the network. App virtualization and SCCM both have the ability to control apps and licenses. This is nothing new and has been around for years. You don't give end users admin privileges and you restrict standard user rights.

Are you just rambling or you have actually heard about laws talking about the number of OSs on a PC? I have heard about a number of stupid laws in the EU, but nothing like that.

  3. The E.U. is just a guess on my part.
They take Microsoft to court for just about everything else; why not W-10.
I'm guessing but I'm thinking the App Store should get them in court in the E.U.

I think A1 is trademarked - they'll have to change it to A.1 or something to avoid lawsuits *Wink

Though coming from someone who has had three strokes, one major, and two baby/mini (they are still strokes) I want to say this is at present one of the best threads I have yet to read on the Nine/Ten's Forums. Other then myself and a couple others you have presented your cases/debates in a well thought out manor. Thus with that I thank for the information you have put forward. The sad thing for me is most of this will be forgotten within the next couple of hours. When one is left with only about 45% of their brain one looses the capability retain a good deal of what they read. Another sad thing is the amount of time it took me to write and edit just this simple little paragraph. . .Thank you all. . .*Thumbs

I try to remember plan (A) W-8xxx was under old management and plan (B) W-10 is under new management.

Hopefully a product will come out under new management that more people will like and buy.
