    Looking for some advice. I have ran a vulnerability scan on one of my laptops, which has windows 11 Professional Version 21H2. The scan results shows that I have an old version of MS Paint 3d installed. version 1.0.46.0, and the recommendation is that I update to the newest version.I have done the following:1. Installed the new version from the app store, then fully removed I don't use this app and therefore don't require it to b installed, it was already removed from the device. Result: Scan still shows the old version is installed.2. Confirmed using PowerShell get-appxpackage, that t

    1. Which version of Windows are you currently using?
    2. Since when are you facing this issue?
    3. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC prior to this issue?

    I understand that you are unable to launch paint 3D on your PC, let us try few troubleshooting steps to fix this issue.

    I suggest you follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

    Method 1: Fix problems with apps from Microsoft store. Refer the follow article for troubleshooting steps to fix issues with

    Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall paint 3D using Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    1. Right click on start and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    2. Type Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.MSPaint | Remove-AppxPackage and then hit
      Enter.
    3. Reinstall Paint 3D from Microsoft store.

    We understand your concern as you are having difficulties with Paint 3D app on your PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:



    • What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed? (Type
      winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the Version of Paint 3D installed on the PC?
    • Did you try opening any other project or did you try to open the same project on a different device?
    • Are you aware of any recent changes on the PC prior to this issue?


    However, we would suggest you to perform step 1, 3 & 7 from this article:
    Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store



    If the issue persists, then we would suggest you uninstall and reinstall Paint 3D app.

    1. Close Paint 3D app. Press
      Windows + X key.
    2. Select Windows PowerShell (Admin)
      from the list.
    3. Copy and paste this command:
      Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.MSPaint* | Remove-AppxPackage

    4. Press Enter key and once the process completes, restart the PC.
    5. After restart go to Microsoft Store and install
      Paint 3D.


    If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to
    create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

    • Does this issue occur on other projects you are working on using Paint 3D?
    • Were there any recent changes done/updates installed on your system prior to this happening?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
