Windows 10: Microsoft Paint Greyscale Error

I like to do art in MS Paint, I love its simplicity and it does everything I need it to do. I've been using it for years, and I've tried other art programs, but none have really tickled my fancy like Paint does. Call me stubborn, but I love this program and I'd like to keep using it for as long as I can. It's reliable and I know it like the back of my hand.


I really would like to use the black & white setting in Paint accessible through the properties menu, but every time I try to use it, it works for maybe a minute or two before crashing with this error message excuse the scribbles, I was just messing around so that I could capture the error:





I've never had any problems with Paint besides this. When I try to close the error message or the Paint window, it won't work. I have to bring up the task manager in order to close it. I have an MSI laptop that I got just last year and I know it has plenty of "memory and resources," it runs all of my games in top quality without any issues, so I seriously doubt that my computer is the issue.


I've tried just about every solution I could find on the internet to solve the problem-- update my version of windows, uninstall/reinstall, command prompt corruption cleanup, you name it. I even tried downloading the XP version of Paint, but the same thing happened again. Nothing has fixed it. I don't know what else I can do, and it's very frustrating.

Microsoft signals end of Paint program

Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.

Microsoft Fresh Paint won't install, error 0x80240013

Guys, I need your help. Thank you in advance. So, yesterday I noticed Fresh Paint icon looked somewhat corrupted, that is in place of the regular

, a yellow little square was displayed. I then proceeded to click on said corrupted icon, in order to run Fresh Paint, but it was to no avail. Tried multiple times, without success, as nothing opened. At this point decided to uninstall/remove Fresh Paint, and subsequently just reinstall it, to see if this procedure would do the trick, hopefully bringing the app back to full functionality. Uninstall was apparently successful. But when I ventured into Microsoft Store, numerous attempts at installing Fresh Paint resulted invariably in failure, as soon as it began downloading the package, with a 0x80240013 error code. As far as I know, this kind of error is linked primarily to the presence of duplicates in a list. Tried running Microsoft Troubleshooter, which supposedly resets the store and cleans/repairs cache and licenses, but that didn't work either. I always end up getting the following 0x80240013 error message





Any suggestions? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone
