Windows 10: Microsoft Paint resizing images when they get pasted into it - Windows 11

Quite simple really, Paint is displaying unexpected behaviour whereby it automatically resizes any image pasted into it from an internet browser. Doesn't matter what size the base image is, whether talking about pixels or file size, it shrinks it down and compresses the image causing it to look blurry and lose fidelityDon't know when this started but i'm guessing based on the other topic on this it might have been introduced when the AI function was added. Basically makes spritework or collages impossible since all the images you're copying and pasting now get resized at a seemingly random rat

One of the key uses I make of MS PAINT is to resize my images.





If 3D Paint is to become the defacto replacement for MS PAINT, then please show me how to resize images to a specific number of pixels, or to a specific % of the original using 3D Paint.

SPECIFIC CROP

In MS PAINT I crop an image down via Properties. I need some advice on how to do a specific accurate crop in 3D Paint.

 

Windows 11 - MS Paint - how to click & drag resize image and maintain aspect ratio?

OS - Windows 11

MS Paint (insider version with layers & transparency)

Is it possible to use the click & drag method of resizing an image and maintain its aspect ratio in the process? I've read several forum posts where they suggest holding Shift while dragging, but doing that does literally nothing. The only way I've found is to go into the image resize window and manually change the length/width amounts while the "Maintain aspect ratio" box is on.

Is there something I'm missing?

The information which you have provided is not enough for us to determine the issue. Please provide us more information.

• Which app/program are you using to browse/view photos?
• Are you referring to Windows Photos app to edit/resize image?

If you are using Windows Photos app to edit image, I would like to inform you that as of now there are no image resizing option available in Photos app. I suggest you to use other app/program to resize the image (e.g. Paint).
