    Microsoft patches its earlier Meltdown patch for AMD PCs

    KB4073290 is currently only available as a 64 bit update so those of use with old backup AMD CPUs incompatible with Windows 10 64 bit remain stuffed until a 32 bit update is released.

    KB4073291 was released yesterday that brings the patch for 32 bit systems too *Smile

    The release notes say:

    This update provides additional protections for 32-Bit (x86) version of Windows 10 1709 after you install January 3, 2018—KB4056892 (OS Build 16299.192).

    Users of old AMD CPUs can't install KB4056892 since the PC freezes on restart.

    This is poorly explained. I installed KB4073291 there was no sign of KB4056892 so this is the fix for 32 bit systems we have been waiting for.
