Windows 10: Microsoft Phone link with Samsung Galaxy S10 drains battery

Based on my device care information, the app drains battery without being actively used. I have latest updates installed for both Win11 and the phone, I restart my phone regularly. Do you have idea what is the cause of this and how can I fix it so that I can use the Phone link without the battery drain? I've disabled the app for now.

Windows 10: Your Phone App, ERROR: "Connect to the same WiFi"

Points To Note

Windows 10 device is connected via WiFi to Galaxy S10's WiFi hotspot i.e. tethered

Galaxy S10 device is connected to the Internet via the mobile phone network

Galaxy S10 Link To Windows app is configured to "Use mobile data"

Both Windows 10 Your Phone app and Galaxy S10 Link To Windows app connected to same Microsoft account

All other Windows 10 Your Phone app features work flawlessly e.g. Calls, Messages, Photos, Notifications etc

Anyone know how to fix this? Everything else works fine, just this feature is broken.

Pairing Phone Link to Galaxy S10

Hello Manson,

Thanks for your response. Yes, both the Galaxy S10 mobile phone and my Surface Laptop are operating on the same WiFi network.

I believe I'm running the latest version of the Phone Link and Windows Insider editions. Here's what I have:

I'm currently running V1.22122.82.0 of Phone Link

I'm on Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2

Installed on ‎5/‎12/‎2022

OS build 22623.1180

Serial number 006706261757

Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0

Please reply back with any other suggestions/recommendations.
