Have installed, reset, uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Finally managed to create People and tag them successfully, using my favorite folder.Wanted to add another subfolder from the same main My Picture folder, which Photos accepted. However, no photos appeared, and all Peoples faces previously tagged disappeared. Just the faces, not the tags.Removing the said folder restored all peoples faces. The "My Picture" folder has the default permissions, which counts for all subfolders as well.Used sfc scan, did a full disk check, nothing wrong shows up. The folder is synchronized to other PC

  2. WINDOWS 10 MICROSOFT PHOTO APP

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

    • Go to settings and system.
    • Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

    • Open the Start menu, type Windows PowerShell in the search bar.
    • Right click on the Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
    • Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.

    • get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

  3. Microsoft Photos Update June 2022

I checked the photo app on my computer and after it was updated in June (mine was updated on June 19th), I could still see the GPS information of the photo. Since there is no way to reverse the version of the app downloaded from Microsoft Store, I suggest you uninstall the Photos app and download it again through Microsoft Store to see the effect.

    1. Click the Start button >Setting>Application
    2. Enter "Photos" in the search box on the app page and open "Advanced Options". Click "Reset" the app
    3. Open up the photos app open up the photos and see if you can see the GPS location.
If you can't view the GPS location after resetting the app, I think this is a BUG .

You may file a report in the Feedback Hub app and share your concern about this issue .Your feedbacks will be heard by the Windows team and we will consider improving Windows.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!
