Windows 10: Microsoft Photos app taking up a lot of storage space, how to clear cache?

My Microsoft Photos app is taking up half a gig, is this normal? If not, how do I clear it up?

Clearing storage space

I'm trying to clear up some space. I've cleared and deleted all unwanted files, the issue is when I open up my storage it indicates that 'temporary files' are taking up 4.25GB of space, yet when I open it up it shows only 50MB worth of data to clear. I have
previously cleared these files yet my laptop storage still seems to think its there.

Any ideas why? and what I should do?

I understand your question.

Windowsphone doesn't need any cache cleaner it works automatically.

But I will suggest you to use Device cleaner(English) app to rescue some storage space.

 

Problems with clearing cache with Microsoft Edge

I would suggest you to follow the below steps to clear the cache from Edge and check if the issue persist.

• 
  Open Edge browser.
  
• 
  On the top right corner click on the three dots
  
  
• 
  Then below click on Settings
  
• 
  Under clear browsing data
  
• 
  Tap or click on Choose what to clear
  
• 
  From the list check cached data
  and files, browsing history
  
• 
  And click on clear.
  

I would also suggest you to clear all temporary files from your computer and check if it helps:

• Press Windows+R key on the keyboard.
• Type %temp% and hit Enter.

Try the SFC scan to resolve the issue. SFC scans the corrupted files and recover it automatically.

To run the SFC/SCANNOW command in Windows 10:

• 
  Left click on Start button.
  
• 
  Right click on Command Prompt (Admin) option which will let you run
  'Run as administrator’.
  
• 
  Command Prompt Window pops up.
  
• 
  Type: SFC /SCANNOW
