Windows 10: Microsoft Photos finds no faces, creates no albums, finds no auto keyword tags

Photos has never worked right on my laptop. Didn't when it was Windows 10. Doesn't on Windows 11, either. First it just kept adding the same files over and over and over. It found one face and one or two created albums and a few tags in 82k or so of the photos it kept adding and adding and adding. Every week I'd look and another five or ten or twenty thousand photos would show recently added, the total number that i could select never got over 70k or 75k of the 82k or so out there. It never got them all. This problem carried over from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and has been going on for several

Print or find all photo tags used in Windows 10

Hi,

Adding tags on your photos will help you easily find the photos you're looking for. If you would like to find the the list of photo tags you used, you may perform these steps:

• Open Windows Explorer.
• View your folder in Details view to see tags.
• Click Tags to sort by any of the tags.

Why did the photos app auto-create a random photo album?

Date and time are definitely taken into account when grouping the photos; a CNET article suggests there might be more complex logic too:

The location would be determined from information embedded in the picture by the device that took it.

Concerning the uninvited appearance of the app: That seems to be a bug experienced by many people with the management of Universal app processes. For some, it's caused by a certain version of DisplayFusion.
