Windows 10: Microsoft Photos in Windows 11 cannot open and display image from a network drive

Hi,I have a network drive that contains some photos. 1. I can open those photos with any 3rd party photo viewers. ACDSee, IrfanView or even the legacy Windows Photo Viewer2. I can play 4K video files from the network drive smoothly with Windows Media player without any lagging.3. I can copy file to and from the network drive without any issue.4. I have tested the speed of file transfer and the upload/download speed is 105Mbps/398Mbps respectively.5. I have tried any other "solution" on the internet including reseting, reparing the Photos app i have no choice to uninstall itThe only thing is

This one works for me but I added this steps:

On Search Bar type %temp% (it will open temporary files) just hit ctrl +A and then delete all

because after following the steps above still didn't work so I did this additional steps and it work!

I just did that and Reset. Now when I double click it opens the image I clicked on and then it asks me how I want to print it.
Like what the?

I have a third party app so I can open images that way but I would like the default app to work.

It sounds like you are currently having a problem Photo viewer not displaying all images on Windows 11. Sorry for the inconvenience.



To understand your problem and help you solve it better, may I ask what happens when you click to see those two pictures that are not displayed? Is there a new Photo window open?



We tested on a device running Windows 11 and did not find the same problem as you, please try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Make sure the pictures you want to view are in the same folder location.



2. Try to repair or reset the Photo app.

Settings > Apps > Photo > Advanced options > Repair/Reset
