Windows 10: MICROSOFT PHOTOS NO LONGER AUOTOMATICALLY SELECTS NEW PICS

Current on all Windows 10 updates.


As of about two months ago the Photos app on my desktop no longer automatically recognizes new photos. The option "IMPORT NEW PHOTOS", which was the default setting, has also disappeared.


There is a new option in the drop menu--SELECT NEW SINCE LAST IMPORT--which I have attempted to use but that just freezes the program. The program will recognize the device, an import menu pops up, but the only way to import the photos is to leave "NONE" selected for the import option, then select each photo or video individually, then hit import.


Would really like to get this working like it was a couple of months ago.

Cheap Photo box that will get the job done

WEll i took on this project for PP hes a hardware reviewer and wants to get the professional looking pics for the Pc parts

Materials:

• Big cardboard box

• a razor

• white material 3 yards

• cone lights

• stapler

• medical tape

• pvc pipe about 6 inches longer than your box

• white paint any cheap finger paint would work

the project I'm guessing will cost me $30 if it works out properly
I will post pictures and step by step as i do it

Unfortunately, the problem remains the same. After rebooting it let me open half a dozen pics using the Photos app, as I originally wanted. I could see each pic the same size in the same window. Success, I thought.

Then it simply stopped. After those first few pics it stopped opening photos and the same message appears: 'The app didn't start.'

I tried going back to the beginning and doing the steps you advised at the start but the same process happened.

It's driving me mad. A nearly new computer and it can't do a simple thing like show me pictures.

What's next? Any suggestions?
