Windows 10: Microsoft Photos takes time to open images and sometimes doesn't open them at all.

My system:

AMD 3900X on a Gigabyte Aorus Elite Wifi with 32gb of RAM.

Various drives but the OS and all MS apps are on NVME drives.

Windows Pro Version 2004 latest update 64 bit


I have both tried "Reset" and "Repair" of the app via the "Advanced options" under the Microsoft Photos app. I have also tried a registry cleaner along with running the system cleaner in Ccleaner, but so far nothing seems to help. I've also scanned my drives for errors but none were found.


My issue: Whenever I first try and open an image with Microsoft Photos default app the app opens but there is no photo. I close it then try and open an image the mouse turns into the "loading" icon and it takes about 5 - 10 seconds for the image to open and it is there.


If I "reset" or "repair" via the advanced options on the app the issue clears up for about a minute or slightly less then the issue starts up again. Note that I do not seem to have any other issues anywhere else.


I just built this system about 2 months ago, so it's still new.

Why Edge doesn´t open any Google www-sites? I am able to open the same Google-sites with any other browsers.

Have you tried performing the troubleshooting steps listed in the article given by
Robert Caw? It was posted above.

As a workaround, you may try these steps:

• Right-click the photo or video.
• You'll see a pop-up box, choose Open With.
• Then choose Paint or Photos to open an image.
  
  (There are also options to open videos when you click Open With.)

Can´t open files from a certain folder

Hello internet, I have gotten a problem lately:

I copied all camera photos/videos from my phone(a Samsung Galaxy A70) as it were going for reparation.

Now i can´t open any of those photos or videos from the computer(Running Windows 10).

The app says that it doesn´t support the format of the file.(JPEG, MP4 and PNG in this case)

I have tried open it with various apps including the old Photo Gallery, Paint, the new Photo Gallery for windows 10(called "Photos" right?), even Microsoft Word... There are no specific error code, the app is only saying that it doesn´t support the format...

I also have tried to move the files to other folders and open them, which doesn´t work either.

I still can open other files with those formats in other folders.

What should I do??
