Windows 10: Microsoft Precision Mouse not working with Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

Hi,


Ever since an update with windows around June, I have noticed that my Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse behaving erratically.


1 The smart switch feature has been slower than before.

2 My macros has been back to default.


It was not a problem for me until I opened up Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center recently and noticed that my mouse cannot be detected by the program. The error message is as follows:

NO SUPPORTED DEVICE DETECTED.

If you have a supported Microsoft device, please plug the USB connector into a different USB port on your computer. If this issue persists, please check Troubleshooting device setup.


If you have a Bluetooth device, you must first set up the Bluetooth connection in Settings.

"


At times, the Mouse and Keyboard Center will detect my mouse for 10-15 seconds and then disconnects within the program- this will repeat itself indefinitely until it causes my PC to shut down with a chance to trigger a bluescreen and windows repair mode. The issue is consistent to both my laptop Microsoft Surface Book 2 and desktop Custom with Mouse and Keyboard Center versions 13.222 and 2.3.188. I am forced to uninstall the software as the software reboots itself on boot up and goes back into the loop automatically whenever my mouse is turned on.


I have tried all the troubleshooting procedures provided in the error message above, which I believe is a generic one and I am still unable to resolve this matter. Do note however, that my precision mouse pairs and work normally via bluetooth across all my devices. Hence, I have doubts that it is a hardware issue. I am only unable to fully utilize the full suite of the precision mouse features since the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center cannot detect my mouse correctly.


Please advise if there are any solutions.

Mouse not visible in Mouse and Keyboard Center

I use Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard and Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse, The first is visible in Mouse and Keyboard Center, but not the mouse. The mouse
does work, however one of the reasons I have chosen this particular mouse is the additional settings in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, which I cannot use.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. No improvement.

The mouse is on the list of supported devices and I'm surprised by this issue as I have never heard such a problem before. It is my second Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse.

Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center error

Thanks for replying to us with the status of your issue.

We understand the inconvenience caused and we will try our best to resolve the issue.

This issue might occur if the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center files got corrupted.

I suggest you to place the computer in clean boot, uninstall the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center application and download and install the latest Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center application form the website and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Perform Clean boot.

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program.

Note: Steps mentioned for Windows 8/8.1, will work fine with Windows 10.

Disclaimer: Please go through the section: How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

Step 2: Uninstall Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center application.

1) Press Windows key + x and select Program and features.

2) Right click on the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center and click on
Uninstall.

Step 3: Download and install the latest Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center for the website.

SIdewinder Mouse NOT recognized in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

Hello,

Same problem here, the old Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center asked me to download the update.

Since the update is installed, the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center tells me that I don't have any device compatible.

Actually i have the Wireless Mouse 5000, that is listed as supported.

I think Microsoft did a great job with the testing of the update, maybe it's working for logitech device...
